E-Library Database Expands Documentation And Categories

The North West BT Unions Health and Safety Co-ord website, Unionsafety, continues to add both documentation and category subjects in its aim to provide good research facilities to Union Safety Reps as well as up to date information to those generally interested in health and safety at work, and even at home.

With safety being the main concerns of USRs, many forget that health is a major issue in the workplace too.

Occupational cancers, asthma , stress and muscoskeletal injuries are amongst the highest in Europe; and the government's cuts in both health and safety legislation and workplace visits by the HSE and environmental health departments of local authorities are at an all-time low. As a result, USRs need all the help they can get in the form of resources both in terms of information and education.

The E-Library has now some 904 documents available in 89 subject categories which can be searched using either keywords or by selecting a subject category such as Asbestos, Cancer, Stress, Sickness Absence and Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
